An expert in children's publishing and education, Scholastic established its Printables division in response to teachers' express need to easily generate their own customized learning materials and instructional tools. For part of the Printables e-commerce site, Blenderbox developed the "Make Your Own" section, which allows teachers to create unique crossword puzzles, word scrambles and searches, flashcards, and awards for students using their own list of uploaded words or names, and then store them digitally or print them out for in-class use. The Flash-based solution is architected to be highly scalable for expansion.
