The Rockefeller Foundation, under the category 'Nonprofit', has won the IMA Best in Class Award. The Best in Class award is the highest honor bestowed by the Interactive Media Awards. It represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism. In order to win this award level, the site had to successfully pass through a comprehensive judging process, achieving very high marks in each of the judging criteria - an achievement only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn each year. About the project: Founded in 1913 by John D. Rockefeller, Sr., the Rockefeller Foundation aims to promote the well-being of humanity by identifying and attacking at their source the underlying causes of human suffering. Before beginning the redesign of their public-facing website, Blenderbox undertook a comprehensive round of discovery and user interviews in order to better understand the Foundation's core organizational values and the ways in which their users would interact with their content. Armed with the information gleaned from the discovery phase, Blenderbox designed a next generation web site for the Rockefeller Foundation that allows its audience to approach and interact with their content through one of three dimensions: issue areas, initiatives, and geography. In addition to a sleek and well-organized front-end design, Blenderbox also provided the Foundation with a flexible suite of custom content management tools to allow them to keep the site's content fresh and relevant.

The Outstanding Achievement award is the second highest honor bestowed by IMA and an extremely challenging award to win. The website excelled in all areas of the judging criteria and represents a very high standard of planning, execution and overall professionalism. About the project: The Israel Film Center at The JCC in Manhattan is a leading resource for Israeli film, serving as an exhibitor, promoter, educator, funder, distributor, producer, network organizer, advisor, and festival producer. To help the IFC reach their goal of expanding Israel's emerging film industry and promoting Israeli culture in America, Blenderbox designed and developed a public-facing web community, complete with functionality to support user-generated content, to serve as a comprehensive database of all Israeli television and film productions. Blenderbox also developed a robust suite of custom content management tools that allow for customization of nearly every aspect of the site.
