The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) partnered with Blenderbox to redesign sciencenetlinks.com, a free resource they provide in partnership with the Verizon Foundation’s Thinkfinity initiative.

Sciencenetlinks.com is a repository of lessons, resources, interactives, printables, and editorial content including podcasts that aid science education online and in the classroom. The content is primarily geared towards educators, but is well poised to serve multiple audiences including trained educators, afterschool providers, caregivers, students, and parents alike.

The foundation for the new site is a robust search, which allows the user to find resources via multiple relevant criteria. The new site embraces modern web standards and best practices for accessibility, usability, search engine optimization and content organization.

It delivers an experience that maximizes time on site, engenders user satisfaction, incorporates community and engagement, cross-references and cross-relates AAAS resources and programs, and highlights professional development resources and the benefits of AAAS membership along the way.

The back-end has been custom developed in django with an intuitive admin interface to ease workflow and optimize the process for the content editors.
