Bedford Cheese Shop
The cheese stinks but the website doesn't.
Craft beers do not have a reputation for great websites - great beer, yes, but not websites. Brooklyn Brewery reached out to Blenderbox to deliver an immersive experience that focuses on what matters: their deep roster of amazing beers and their ever-expanding social media presence.
Blenderbox designed the site to feel like a part of the brewery itself, incorporating the historic and industrial aesthetic of the building into the design. The result feels like taking a guided tour though their facilities (but without a last call).
The site features a beer-finder, interactive ways to learn about the different beer styles (and recipes to go with them), and various social media interactions with Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter. One custom integration is with Untappd, an app that shows real-time information on who’s drinking Brooklyn Brewery beer.
To surface other elements of the Brooklyn Brewery’s community-centric brand, the site features a local guide to eating and drinking and a special section for community support, showcasing the various organizations that received beer donations for fundraising events.
The site itself was built with the latest Ruby on Rails, making it just as forward thinking technologically as the brewery's beers are. So sit back, have a Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, and pair it with an Indian-Spiced Crab Cake. Just be sure you don't drunk email your ex in the process.
