Bedford Cheese Shop
The cheese stinks but the website doesn't.
Little Brownie Bakers (one of the only two bakeries that is licensed to produce Girl Scout Cookies) needed to launch a new CMS-backed site in time for the launch of their 2011 cookie season.
With the Girl Scouts of America's 100th anniversary coming up in 2012, they'll be making frequent updates to the site. Since their previous site was custom-coded each year to match the cookie-selling theme for the season, making updates required developer intervention.
With a Django-backed CMS, the Little Brownie Bakers team can now log into the site and post new content, add images, and embed videos as needed, no coding required.
The site also features a prominent countdown clock to the anniversary, and a CMS-fed stat on the homepage gives the team an opportunity to promote the Samoa cookie's 500,000 Facebook followers or the number of Twitter followers they have, to encourage social media participation among its visitors.
But the tastiest part of the site are dedicated cookie pages that tantalize visitors with cookie photos, and pictures, along with nutritional information and other important facts.
